"Asleep" is the fourth song to be featured in the movie and the eighth track on the soundtrack. It was performed by Emily Browning herself and was used one night in the Lennox House (specifically in the brothel fantasy) when the girls are supposed to be asleep in bed (seems appropriate given the song's name). In the scene, however, Rocket gets out of bed and finds Babydoll on the bathroom floor crying. Rocket sits next to her to try and offer some comfort before the scene changes to when Babydoll is scrubbing the floor of a corridor before the song ends in the kitchen when the cook tunes his radio to an opera song so he can (possibly) have his lunch while Rocket is toiling away in the pantry. This version of the song is called "A Way Out / Samurai Sequence" on the Sucker Punch: Complete Motion Picture Score, while "Now Fight! / End Credits (Army of Me Reprise)", is a second version of the song that plays during the credits.

Lyrics[]

Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I'm tired and I
I want to go to bed

Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
And then leave me alone
Don't try to wake me in the morning
'Cause I will be gone
Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I will feel so glad to go

Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymore

Sing to me
Sing to me
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymore

Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I really want to go

There is another world
There is a better world
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well

Bye bye
Bye bye
Bye
